regional innovation centre eem-valley

The Regional Innovation Centre Eem-Valley was founded in April, 2009, with the goal of letting the knowledge flow between the government, entrepreneurs, social groups and educational institutions.  Students from diverse educational institutions work together with experienced experts from the region on a variety of regionally innovative projects.  In the summer of 2009 cooperation began between the Eemlandhoeve (Eemland centre) and care-farm het Paradijs (in the Vallei), resulting in the establishment of RIC Eem-Valley.  The RIC is the result of a Rural Academy project, further resulting in the joining of Slow Advice and Smart Region.  The RIC Eem-Valley works together nationally with the 'Workplace' formula from the Regional Transition program (directed by Willem Foorthuis).

Examples of study projects are:

  • The Canon of Eemland
  • Development plan for Landscape House
  • Amersfoort food strategy with special attention for CO2 emissions
  • Ecological-friendly sustenance of the Arkemheen-Eemland region
  • Care and landscape
  • Cow signal assistance:  instructions for observing cows
  • Regional food:  between farmer and restaurant
  • Business strategies for entrepreneurs:  growth or diversification?
